Eliminate Terrorists and Their Sponsors, Pastor Adeboye Urges FG

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has urged the Federal Government to eliminate terrorists and their sponsors ahead of possible U.S. military action in Nigeria.

He gave the advice during the November Holy Ghost Service on Friday, as he reacted to recent threats issued by U.S. President Donald Trump.

He recommended President Bola Tinubu give the newly appointed service chiefs a three-month ultimatum to wipe out terrorists and their financiers, and he warned that failure should lead to their resignation.

The cleric said, “This is not the time for apportioning blame. Our President inherited this problem, it started before him.”

He recalled a prior directive requiring service chiefs to remove Boko Haram insurgents within three months or resign.

The cleric advised, “When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, we should make it clear that they are not only to eliminate terrorists but also their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be.

Furthermore, Adeboye cautioned that if America intervenes militarily in Nigeria, global powers such as China and Russia will not defend the country.

He stated, “If America should attack us, China is not coming to defend us. Russia will not come to defend us.” He insisted that leaders must move fast, diplomatically, and wisely, since innocent people continue dying amid the crisis.

Consequently, he called on Tinubu to plead with Trump for 100 days of diplomatic window to tackle insurgency.

He added that once Tinubu secures that window, he should order the service chiefs and security agencies to resolve the insurgency within 90 days.

The warning follows Trump’s recent post on Truth Social asserting that Christianity in Nigeria faces an “existential threat” and that the U.S. “cannot stand by” while such atrocities occur.
