Reality star Josephine Otabor, better known as “Phyna,” was detained at the Dalchifit Hotel in Gwarinpa, Abuja, following a violent fight on October 14, 2025, that allegedly resulted in ₦3.5 million in damages. The hotel is demanding the sum from Phyna, while she accuses staff of allowing touts into her room and alleges the facility compromised her safety.
According to video footage that surfaced online and eyewitness reports, what began as a debt-related altercation between Phyna and hotel personnel escalated into chaos. She claims the dispute started over an unpaid debt of ₦200,000; the hotel then allegedly disclosed her room number to outside individuals who broke into her space and assaulted her. Police are reviewing CCTV footage, the star has posted on social media about the ordeal, and she says the hotel threatened to detain her until she covered the cost of the alleged damages.
Fans of Phyna reacted swiftly on social platforms, expressing shock and support. One Instagram user wrote: “Oh my God Phyna I really feel for this lady.” Another commented: “But how would a hotel disclose a room number without the occupant’s consent.” Several followers urged Phyna to pursue legal action, with one urging: “Sue them nah, Abi?” and another warning: “They should keep her till Monday, when she is out; let her SUE!”
In the meantime, Dalchifit Hotel has remained silent on the public record, though the demand for ₦3.5 million in damages suggests it considers the incident serious. Hotel management reportedly informed Phyna that she would remain in their custody until the funds were paid, a claim she strongly denies, insisting she remains a victim of threat and intimidation. Legal and law-enforcement sources say the case could escalate into a wider inquiry over hotel security and guest safety standards in Abuja’s hospitality industry.
