Breaking: Army Riad Terrorists Camp, Rescues 86 Kidnapped Victims in Borno

The Nigerian Army rescued 86 kidnapped victims and arrested 29 terrorist logistics suppliers during coordinated raids in Borno State.

The operation formed part of Operation Hadin Kai, the Joint Task Force’s campaign to clear insurgent strongholds in the North-East.

Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer, announced the operation in a statement on X on Monday.

He said troops from the 135 Special Forces Battalion under Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai intercepted Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters on November 9, 2025, near Dutse Kura.

The troops discovered that the insurgents were abducting civilians and seizing vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.

According to Lt. Col. Uba, the troops quickly repelled the attack and chased the terrorists toward Mangari.

They overpowered the insurgents during a follow-up encounter and destroyed 11 makeshift structures that served as hideouts.

The soldiers rescued several men, women, and children during the operation. They also recovered one AK-47 rifle, five magazines with 73 rounds of ammunition, four PKT belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two tricycles used for logistics.

In another raid, troops at Mangada arrested 29 suspected logistics suppliers transporting fuel and supplies to terrorist camps near Chilaria.

They seized two pickup vans, a tricycle, about 1,000 litres of petrol, four gallons of engine oil, gun truck tyres, medical supplies, and a large quantity of food items.

Lt. Col. Uba said troops completed all missions successfully and suffered no casualties. He reaffirmed the military’s commitment to deny insurgents freedom of movement across the North-East.

Meanwhile, the Military High Command commended the troops for their courage and professionalism. It urged them to continue their offensive operations against terrorists.

This achievement reinforces the army’s determination to restore peace and security across Nigeria.
