Breaking: NDLEA Arrests Pretty Mike and Others at Nightclub in Lagos

The atmosphere in Lagos turned tense early Sunday morning after the NDLEA arrests Pretty Mike and over 100 others at Proxy Nightclub in Victoria Island. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) carried out the raid during a drug-themed party at the upscale club located on Akin Adesola Street.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi confirmed that operatives stormed the nightclub around 3 a.m. after gathering intelligence about the event. He explained that several substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from guests and storage areas within the club. The operation, he said, was part of a broader crackdown on drug use and trafficking across Nigeria’s entertainment scene.

Pretty Mike, whose real name is Mike Eze-Nwalie Nwogu, was reportedly hosting the event when officers intervened. The agency detained all attendees for screening and investigation, ensuring no one evaded questioning. Ex-BBNaija housemate Tuoyo Ideh, who was among those taken in, confirmed his release later via Instagram, noting he was found clean after NDLEA screening.

Online, the NDLEA arrests Pretty Mike story sparked intense debate among Nigerians. Many applauded the agency for its firmness, while others called for fair treatment of suspects. One user on X wrote, “This should serve as a warning — no one is above the law.” Another commented, “Nightlife is not the problem; drug abuse is. NDLEA must stay consistent.”

Authorities have yet to confirm if Pretty Mike will face formal charges, but investigations remain ongoing. Meanwhile, NDLEA pledged to sustain its anti-drug operations while promoting public awareness about substance abuse risks.
