Chelsea striker Liam Delap has returned to full training, after recovering from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for over a month.
Manager Enzo Maresca confirmed the 22-year-old’s comeback during Thursday’s press briefing and described it as “a big boost for the team’s confidence.”
Although, Delap will miss Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Sunderland on Saturday. However, he expects to be fit for the Carabao Cup match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on October 29, 2025.
Moreover, his return gives Chelsea more attacking depth as they now sit third in the Premier League with 20 points from nine matches.
Fans quickly expressed excitement across social media. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Delap’s work rate is unmatched — perfect timing for Wolves!”.
Another commented, “Our attack is finally complete again. Can’t wait to see him link up with Palmer and Nkunku!”
Chelsea supporters also praised Maresca’s injury-management approach. Many noted that Delap’s careful recovery could prevent another setback and improve the team’s finishing in crucial games ahead.
Meanwhile, analysts believe Delap’s physical style and sharp movement will play a key role as Chelsea aim to close the gap on league leaders Manchester City.
With Delap’s imminent return, Chelsea’s frontline looks set for a major lift. As a result, fans can already feel the momentum shifting back to Stamford Bridge.
