Yobe Police have launched a manhunt after a 16-year-old girl was found r@ped and m8rdered in Gashu’a. The victim, Sadiya Suleiman, was discovered near the New Prison Fence on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
She was found in a pool of blood with her throat slit. The report came from Mai Anguwa Idris Haruna, a resident of Dadin Kowa. He alerted the Bade Divisional Police Headquarters at 9:00 a.m.
Detectives responded swiftly and arrived at the scene. They evacuated the 16-year-old girl to the Specialist Hospital in Gashu’a. Medical experts confirmed she was r@ped before being m8rdered.
Police spokesperson SP Dungus Abdulkarim confirmed the incident in a statement. He stated that an investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Ado described the crime as barbaric and unacceptable. He assured the public that the culprits will be brought to justice.
The police urged residents to provide credible information to aid the investigation.
This tragedy follows a similar k!lling in Gashu’a last month. Also, several r@pe cases involving minors have been reported in the state.
Authorities continue to call for vigilance and community support. Investigators remain active in pursuing justice for Sadiya.
