A viral video showing angry parents slapping a teacher in an Abuja school following an alleged assault on their child has sparked public outrage. The child had reported to his parents that the teacher slapped him during school hours. The aggrieved parents quickly visited the school to confront the teacher over the incident.
During a meeting with the school management, the teacher admitted that the child pushed him twice. He said he slapped the pupil to reprimand him. However, the explanation angered the parents, and the situation escalated immediately.
The father suddenly charged at the teacher and delivered two slaps to his face. He shouted, “You slapped my boy because he can’t slap you!” He added that the teacher tried to punish the child unfairly. Meanwhile, the mother also confronted the teacher and questioned his judgement. She asked why he hit the boy without considering his health condition.
The confrontation continued as both parents expressed strong frustration over the teacher’s actions. They insisted that no teacher should ever slap a child under any circumstance. The viral video has circulated widely across Nigerian social media platforms.
Many Nigerians praised the parents for protecting their child. Yet, others criticised the parents for resorting to physical assault. They argued that violence against teachers sets a harmful precedent.
